This day-of signage and invitation project started with a very funky color scheme sent over from the bride and groom. Red, orange, blue, pink, lilac, acid green and yellow; all in very saturated tones. We created an invitation suite and day-of signage using all of these colors, but not all in one place, to allow for variety. The design process with this couple was a dream, with emails back and forth dreaming up ideas prior to selecting the final design. On the wedding day, the forecast said (maybe??) rain. In true North Carolina fashion, May was filled with quite a few weekends where rain was a definite possibility, but depending on where you were, you might get lucky with just a cloudy day. This wedding was so colorful, and was meant to be outdoors in the sunshine. As early afternoon drew near, it was time for the call. Just at that moment, the rain started and it was time to pull everything indoors. In situations like this, the vendors are equally as heartbroken as the couple. Despite the weather, this set-up was still so vibrant! I went into the main house of The Bradford during set-up, only to find the bride and groom, still in their morning PJs, practicing their first dance in the front room by themselves. It was one of the sweetest behind-the-scenes moments I've ever seen working in the wedding industry. They were so full of joy and in love. It radiated, even with the clouds and the rain. Color Fields Flowers adorned the space with every color you could think of in Tulips, Icelandic Poppies, Roses, Snapdragons, Ranunculus and much more. The reception space was filled with flowers, playful candles and colorful table numbers, but brought down to earth with a natural linens and a warm toned, green napkin. We created the table numbers in a variety of different colors and textures. The bar included an organic shaped acrylic piece and custom matchbooks. We also had a red audio guest book sign in a wavy shape. This wedding was one for the books. It was expertly planned by Whitney at The Gathering Co. and photographed by The Hazel Club.
